Video: Organizing vs. Decluttering

I bet you have a few organizing projects on your to-do list for the new year.

I want to give you some advice: stop buying bins. That is not your problem. The problem is that you have too much stuff.

If you want to be organized, you have to get rid of some of your stuff because it just turns into clutter.

There’s a fantastic blog called Slob Comes Clean from Dana K. White. She has a brilliant idea of asking yourself a question:

Where would I put this in my house if I were going to look for it? Where would I go?

That’s where you need to put it. If you can’t think of a place, or if you get to that place and it’s overwhelmed with stuff, you’ve got your projects laid out for you.

Take the time to declutter and get items out of your house before you take the time to organize them because otherwise, you’re just organizing your clutter and we don’t have time for that!

If you need help on your organizing projects, we would love to step in and offer a little guidance.
